A sandy beige crossed with gray and ivory veins, drawn from the Leccese limestone of Salento in southern Italy. Locals call it la pietra gentile, the gentle stone, because it carves so easily. Tortora is the warm middle of the four tones, neither pale nor heavy.
Cut down to 2x2 squares on a sheet just under a square foot, the pattern shifts to a small scale that follows a sloped floor and works alongside the larger sizes in the same color. Matte color-body porcelain, suitable for residential and commercial floors and walls.
