The floor feels as though it was there before the room was built around it. Clouded, earth-toned surfaces carry the worn character of old terracotta, with pale markings and deeper patches that keep each piece from reading exactly like the next. Ten face variations give the installed field movement without a rigid repeat.
Across the floor, rounded-square outlines meet at small, pale star-shaped details. The rhythm is measured but never severe, softening the geometry of the generous 18-inch format. Up close, the mottling draws the eye; from the doorway, the pattern settles into a warm, expansive surface.
Beside a freestanding tub, aged brass, or natural wood, that weathered appearance feels especially at home. Daylight reveals the lighter marks, while the spaces beneath furniture gather into deeper, earthy tones.
