A carbide-tipped bit engineered specifically for porcelain and ceramic tile. The PTC tip geometry concentrates cutting force at the point of contact, reducing heat buildup and minimizing the risk of surface cracking — the two failure modes that make drilling hard tile difficult.
The 5/16" diameter is sized for anchor holes, fixture mounting, and through-wall penetrations where precision matters — shower doors, towel bars, and similar hardware. It cuts cleanly through glazed surfaces without the chipping that standard masonry bits leave behind, and maintains its edge across multiple holes when used with consistent speed and light pressure.
The special carbide tip eliminates bit wander, ensuring accurate hole placement from the first contact. Life expectancy is 20–30 holes in porcelain with proper usage; once the edge is spent on porcelain, the bit remains usable in softer tile materials. Holes can be drilled in as little as 20 seconds.
Designed for tile only. When drilling into installed tile, use the correct masonry bit for the substrate behind it. Maximum depth of cut is 1/2".
Usage requirements: Constant supply of pressurized water. 700–900 RPM. Rotary action only — no hammer mode.
