Bristles
- Soft natural hair, very fine and dense, so it holds a lot of colorant and puts it down without streaks or brush marks.
- Flexible tips that follow the joint's profile, including slightly recessed, rounded, or uneven joints.
- Absorbent hair that soaks up and releases colorant evenly, which means fewer trips to the cup and a more consistent finish from joint to joint.
Shape and handle
- Wide, flat paddle shape: one pass covers a long run of grout line, and the narrow edge handles tight spots and corners.
- Lightweight wood handle that's comfortable for long stretches of detail work on floors, walls, and backsplashes.
- Bristles are stitched or bound straight into the handle with no metal, so there's no rust and nothing to scratch glazed tile, stone, or glass.
Performance
- Leaves a smooth, even coat, which is the right application for a pigmented grout colorant and sealer.
- Lays color down gently without grinding it in, so it doesn't drag sand or loose particles.
- Made for grout colorant and sealer.
Tips for use
- Start with a dry, solid and thoroughly clean grout line, with no old sealer, dust, soap scum or other residue on it.
- Seal porous tile first so it doesn't absorb the colorant.
- Brush the colorant evenly onto the grout, working it deep into the joint with a back-and-forth motion.
- Once the coat is tack-free, about 30 minutes, wipe the excess off the tile with warm, soapy water and a sponge or rag.
- After 2 to 4 hours, apply a second coat the same way. Let it dry another 30 minutes, then clean the tile again.
- Light foot traffic can start after 2 to 4 hours, wait up to 72 hours before exposing the area to high humidity, such as running a shower.
