Collection: Checkerboard Tile

Classic Checkerboard Floors, Made Easy

Nothing says timeless like a checkerboard floor — black and white for a vintage bath, soft grey and white for a modern kitchen, or warm gold-veined marble for a showpiece entry. These porcelain tiles from the District, Marmi Anticati, and Elegance collections are calibrated: every color in a series is manufactured to the exact same dimensions, so you can alternate colors square for square and get crisp, even grout lines with no lippage headaches.

Why calibrated tile matters for checkerboards

• Consistent sizing — every color in a series lines up perfectly
• Easier installation — tight, uniform joints across the whole pattern
• Mix colors with confidence — pair any two (or three) shades within the same series

Popular pairings

• Venice Black + Cortina White (Marmi Anticati, honed) — the classic marble checkerboard
• District Black + District White (matte) — bold, graphic, and slip-friendly
• Marquinia + Statuario or White Carrara (Elegance) — dramatic black-and-white marble look, matte or polished
• Amalfi Oro + Florence Grey (Marmi Anticati) — warm, soft-contrast elegance

Choose 12x12 for a traditional checkerboard or 24x24 for a large-scale, modern take. Tip: keep both colors in the same series and the same finish so the squares match in size and feel.
