Earth Day
April 22, 2026 · Earth Day
Born from
the Earth.
Built to last.
Tile and stone are among the oldest building materials on Earth — quarried from the ground, shaped by fire, and enduring for centuries. This Earth Day, we celebrate the materials that honor the planet by lasting lifetimes.

Sustainability
Why tile is one of the
most sustainable choices
Unlike carpet — replaced every 5–10 years and destined for landfills — properly installed ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone tile lasts for generations. It doesn’t off-gas VOCs, harbor allergens, or require chemical cleaners. It’s the original sustainable flooring.
Natural stone — travertine, marble, slate, quartzite — comes directly from the earth with minimal processing. One of the few flooring materials truly born rather than made.
Tile installed in Roman bathhouses is still intact 2,000 years later. A floor that never needs replacing is the ultimate form of sustainability — nothing to manufacture again, nothing to throw away.
Ceramic and porcelain tile contain no volatile organic compounds and require only water and standard household cleaners. Your indoor air quality stays clean — naturally.
Stone and tile store heat from the sun and release it slowly, reducing heating and cooling loads. Paired with radiant floor heating, it’s one of the most energy-efficient floor systems available.
Tile doesn’t trap dust, dander, pollen, or mold the way soft flooring does. A cleaner surface means cleaner air — better for families, especially those with asthma or allergies.
Crack a plank of LVP and you’re replacing sections or the whole floor. Crack a tile and a skilled installer replaces that one tile. Repairability is sustainability.
“The most sustainable product is one you never have to replace.”— The tile trade, for about 3,000 years

Straight from the ground to your floor
Every natural stone tile we carry was formed over millions of years — compressed, crystallized, and shaped by the Earth itself. We think that’s worth celebrating.
