Seam Sealer

Recommended for seaming many types of carpet in a direct glue down installation, double glue down applications, and stretch-in installation involving synthetic backings. Not recommended for vinyl backing.
DIRECTIONS:
1. Prepare carpet according to manufacturer’s
instructions. Refer to CRI Carpet Installation Standard
2009 for additional information regarding subfloor
preparations, etc.
2. Apply a bead of seam adhesive along one side of the
trimmed edge where the face yarn enters the backing
using an application bottle.
3. Complete the seam by butting both sections of the
carpet together while the adhesive is still wet (within
5 minutes).
4. If the seam tends to separate, relieve the stress on the
carpet with a knee kicker.
5. Avoid soaking carpet with solvent. Do Not pour solvent
directly on carpet.
6. For tack strip application, apply a generous bead of
adhesive to the back of each piece of strip.
7. Put the tack strip in place, remove briefly, allowing the
solvent to flash, then re-install.
8. This will permit the contact bond to gain strength
quickly.
9. Allow the adhesive to cure completely before installing
the carpet.
10. It is the sole responsibility of the installer to determine
the suitability and compatibility of the adhesive for the
end user’s intended use.
